Inspiration: Celine's Artful Brows

With make-up being clean and low-key chez Celine, the label's Spring 2014 mismatched curving brows caught us by surprise, quite pleasantly.

And while they are a challenging proposition to master, they do make for one arresting statement worth a go.

Most Wanted: One's a Charm at Celine and Louis Vuitton

Leave it to two of the coolest designers on the scene, Phoebe Philo at Celine and Nicolas Ghesquiere at Louis Vuitton, to channel retro styling with a single statement making earring.

At Celine, the look was handcrafted with found objects that while covetable, look like they could be good fun reproducing on your own. And at Vuitton, Ghesquiere turned a logo moment into something abstract, modernist and vaguely ethnic. Truly too cool.

First up, we pay homage to the late great Gianni Versace, whose inimitable printed silk baroque blouses were all the rage from the hip-hop scene, to the colorful Palm Spring's retiree's from the late 80's and on.

We at Vnyc have been lucky enough to come across these vivid tops every now & then and as you can imagine, are always on the lookout for a new score.

Most Wanted: Trussardi's Fall 2014 Leather Sweatshirt

Trussardi's take on the sweatshirt trend whipped up in slick black leather and topped off with a gilded crest made for a lust worthy update to sweatshirt dressing.

Inspiration: Lamé Overload

Blame it on 13 grueling snowstorms and the requisite need for cumbersome layering, or point away at minimal decadence chez Alber Elbaz at Lanvin, but we're feeling the midas touch when taking in a 80's era Ines De La Fressange in repose.

Ever Want to Be Her?

Any self described fiend can attribute their initial eagerness towards fashion by trying to cop the look of their favorite personas with glorious abandon, and that friends, is one of the most intoxicatingly indulgent joys of self styling.

Who better to look to when attempting to channel the girl on your mental mood board then industry veteran Andrea Linett, and her approach to real-world style at I Want To Be Her?

The Stale State of Streetstyle

Most Wanted: Comme Des Garcons Rings

Always on the prowl for a statement making baubles, these chunky Comme Des Garcons numbers could easily make us the baddest in the ring.

Played Out...

Sometimes fashion media and reportage can be, dare we say it: boring, insincere and too small of a world.

Cozy Knits at The Row Fall 2014

Sucker's for whatever may come down The Row runway, we're mad on the hunt for oversized, extra-chunky knits similar to their upcoming Fall variety.

Normcore at Altuzarra Fall 2014

Think what you can of #Normcore, as while we aren't on board for propagating what we consider a refusal of beauty (you must be basically good looking from scratch to don 'mom' jeans with swagger), we do like to think of it in a completely different way.

Take Joseph Altuzarra's continual twists on everyday staples. One season it was clever takes on railroad stripes, and for Fall we've got our eyes on his deluxe reworking's of another piece of Americana; the polar fleece jacket. We for one, never thought we'd ever want to wear one until Altuzarra dreamed his up in shearling.
