Since discovering what an RCA cord does and being as obsessive as we can be over music, one of us has been using YouTube to make play lists as you can add & delete music from millions of choices and create play lists within seconds. Inspiration: Moon Duo's "Killing Time"

Check out one of our new favorite bands, Moon Duo. We are crazy about the beauty in this video for "Killing Time" & their soothing psych sounds. Moon Duo was formed by Ripley Johnson of Wooden Shjips and Sanae Yamada in San Francisco in 2009. Inspired initially by the legendary duo of John Coltrane and Rashied Ali, Moon Duo counts such variant groups as Silver Apples, Royal Trux, Moolah, Suicide, and Cluster as touchstones.

Best of the Decade: Vnyc's Favorite Music

As a vintage shop, you could say that for us seeing the end of the decade coming is for like most of you, a chance to look back and reflect on the times of yesterday. In this spirit VagaBlog will be celebrating the end of the decade with a look back at our favorite music, fashions and things we think we'll be taking with us well into the new era ahead. It's too hard to narrow everything down between the two of us so we've filled out our own questionnaires separately, and had a lot of fun doing so.

So called avant-garde pop-stars like Alison Goldfrapp, Planning To Rock, Lady Gaga, etc. as well as anything emo or worse, twee from bands like The Decemberists.

Most-Inspiring Style:Alex Kapranos(Franz Ferdinand), Els Pynoo(Vive La Fete), Natasha Khan(Bat for Lashes), Bjork and M.I.A just for being herself.

Just as in Fashion, there were'nt many new ideas within music, what was our least favorite revival/derivation of genres?

Both Agreed: Too Many DJ's were really smart/important but they left behind the messy idea of mash-ups for people, the worst is Rhianna continually sampling 80's pop hits and destroying them. Or that song from this year, "You Spin Me Round."----- mash-ups - Jay Z plus Linkin Park etc.

Also as in fashion, the term "indie" was overused to describe lesser known acts, who do we think deserved a larger audience based on their talents but didn't quite make it?

NH: Interpol

AP: Mf Doom

Favorite "Vintage" acts that never fail to out-shine the younger performers of today in every way, sound/style/attitude?
NH: Bjork

AP: WU TANG forever (GZA, Ghostface, RZA, Method Man, Raekwon).

Best New Trend inspired by music/musicians:

NH: Whatever Natasha Khan(above) & Devendra Banhart(center,below) are doing, they make the mythical hippie thing look a lot more dark and substantial rather then hippie-dippie and sloppy.

Worst New Trend Inspired by Music/Musicians:

NH: Many, the term "guyliner" for one(Pete Wentz). Then there's the Linkin Park bunch in Ed Hardy and all of the 80's glam-gear brought on by a decade of never-ending electro.

AP: Guy Liner, Miley Cyrus style mini moguls. As well as Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Beyonce, and Fergie co-opting therefore ruining the avant-garde work of designers Gareth Pugh, Maison Martin Margiela etc.

Favorite Moment when Music met Fashion:

NH: The marraige of Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson

Completely Gratuitous: Liaisons Dangereuses

Here's a song one of us has been listening to since the beginning of the decade from band Liasons Dangereuses-Etre Assis Ou Danser. It's vintage and it's from 1981 and it comes just like how we like our vintage clothes: slick and well produced with lots of attitude & charisma, a dirty sense of charm and a feeling that it's so out-of-control cool, that you can't believe it's from '81. Okay, the Marquis De Sade inspired lyrics are scary after translation, but that perverseness is a whole other story.
