Most Wanted: M/M INK

One of us has always had a thing for the aesthetic sensibilities of MichaĆ«l Amzalag & Mathias Augustyniak, the duo behind legendary creative firm M/M (Paris). From directing ads for Balenciaga, to photo shoots with Inez & Vinoodh, to art directing Bjork's productions, the duo have maintained a vision that pushes boundaries with a dark yet clean, contemporary restraint and wit. Now the firm has launched a signature fragrance, somewhat unexpected from a team that flourishes on enriching the visual. The new fragrance, M/MINK, in collaboration with Byredo, as you can imagine, emulates ink— with a clever composition of adoxal, incense, patchouli, honey & amber.

Inspiration: YSL's Fall 2010 Ads

We are always mad for the moody brilliance of Stefano Pilati at YSL and love his fall 2010 collection for the storied house. Of course we think this ad featuring Daria, shot by Inez & Vinoodh, is a brilliantly seductive follow-up to one hell of a smart collection. Truth be told, we find it bad-ass in the most respectable kind of way.
